On 3rd April the regeneration works at Harefield Hospital were completed by Ringway Jacobs after 6 weeks of construction. The works included foot way renewals, carriageway resurfacing,
drainage improvements, pedestrian crossings and installation of street
furniture. The creation of a new roundabout, bus stop and lay by have all
increased the accessibility of the hospital to the public, providing a safer route
for cars and pedestrians.

The works were situated outside the main entrance to the Heart and Lung specialist hospital where ambulance priority was essential, any delays could prove fatal to critically ill patients. A one way traffic management system was set up in order to mitigate this and operative briefings to ensure that at the first sign of any blue flashing lights any obstructions were removed and traffic stopped. Dust suppression was also critical around the hospital so water suppression was used on all cutting works.
