Douglas Claxton, Principal Tunnels Traffic Coordinator LSTOC: "I would like to highlight the outstanding efforts and actions of the Ringways Jacobs Teams under the supervision of Tony Hopkins regarding an incident within the GGT contraflow system. A vehicle collided with the cross over barrier and ended up on its side within the single contraflow lane. Thanks to the quick thinking and proactive actions of the team on site, the driver was able to exit the vehicle safely and without injury after the team repositioned the vehicle, also the closure of the affected lane was kept to an absolute minimum thanks to a TM ‘Bubble’ enabling the traffic to continue whilst creating a safe environment for the emergency services to conduct their business and rrecovery of the vehicle to be completed without any further impact on the traffic. The communications with Tony were excellent, the information was clear, accurate and gained direct from the team on site which we were then able to pass on to other stakeholders"
